Meditation is all the rage now because it’s the perfect antidote to our fully connected lives. We need to unplug and rejuvenate more frequently than ever before. But the main problem for most people is…whose got time for long meditation sessions?! This is what I hear all the time in my SmBiz consulting. If people have a free hour of time, they want to go for a run or a rigorous yoga class.
My solution to this dilemma for over 25 years has been ‘mini-meditations.’ Taking just three slow, deep breaths at a time has been a game changer for me. Deep breath really is the most under utilized tool for success. It’s been my go-to tool for finding calm and/or energy for decades. I wrote my first article about breath in 1997 in Pulse magazine, the spa industry trade paper. The article was titled ‘02 Breathe,’ and featured the incredible benefits of breath for calming, energizing and wellness. It was during childbirth in 1996 that breath became my ‘secret’ life changing tool for mental wellness, inner strength and focus. The more you do it, the deeper the results to your health, wellness, attitude, energy, mindset and presence.
